Opis:

The work belongs to the so-called spherical images cycle painted by Biegas less than ten years before his death. In addition, confirming the contractual date of the creation of the painting is the photo of the artist in his studio at 3 rue de Bagneux during the last exhibition in 1948, where the depicted Smile appears on the easel on the right. On the other side of the artist there is a mannequin, which served Biegas in developing figures of characters from canvas. The picture shows a femle almost full-body nude on a colorful, spherical background that shines thanks to the combination of many color tones through the use of the pointillism technique. The female figure is depicted from the left profile, does not make contact with the viewer, looks into distance, emerging as if from a spherical sky.Model's palms, like in other paintings of this type, imitate Hindu gestures. The whole work carries a multi-layered symbolism, which Biegas has always been faithful to.
