Wejman Gallery was established in 2014. Polish modern art, especially by artists belonging to École de Paris, has been exhibited, at 8 Jaracza Street in Warsaw, since 2018.
The main aim of the gallery is to present the most interesting and exquisite 20th century artworks. Besides recognized artists such as Mela Muter or Jan Lebenstein, it is discovering and promoting artists absent in the mainstream art history discourse in Poland. Among others, works by Elie Nadelman (famous in the USA) or Hel Enri (popular mainly in Paris in the 50s and 60s) are exhibited thereamong others. The gallery also focuses on promotion of sculpture, a field still underestimated in Poland.
Bolesław Biegas is the first artist whose works have been popularized by the gallery. In 2018 it prepared his monographic exhibition, showing - among others - unknown works from his early artistic period. It has resulted in cooperation with Villa la Fleur, where his individual exhibition, including a catalogue in 2011, was organized. Biegas' works were also atopic of one of the episodes of „Wysokie C” TV program. Effort culminated in the creation of a website: www.biegas.pl.
Wejman Gallery participates in art fairs and cultural events such as 'Warszawskie Targi Sztuki', WarsawByArt or Museums' Night. It regularly organizes new exhibitions curated by experts such as Ewa Bobrowska (PhD) or Artur Tanikowski (PhD). All of the expositions are documentedare in catalogues.
